Maiden came up big in Heartland's 48-38 loss
On Saturday Jayce Maiden was dialed in and dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Considering what he did the last time these two duked it out (he dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds), Blue Ridge Christian should've known better. As if that's not impressive enough, the matchup was his third in a row with two or more steals. For the season, Maiden has averaged 16 points, 2.1 blocks, and 1.7 steals per contest.
Maiden and Heartland will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Heartland had to take a loss when they last met Plaza Heights Christian Academy, but Maiden had little to do with the loss: he scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
