Softball Recap: Wallkill Takes a Loss

Wallkill's last matchup with Valley Central could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Panthers lost 21-12 to the Vikings. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Ava Chiavaro led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Kasey Garzione, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Wallkill now has a losing record of 0-1-2.

Wallkill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-5 defeat against Warwick on the 1st. As for Valley Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-1 loss against Pine Bush on the 1st.
