Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Plainfield South's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Plainfield South won the last time they faced Yorkville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Foxes, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since April 19th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Plainfield South who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 16-25, 25-15.

Domonic Krejci paced Plainfield South's offense, picking up 11 kills. Krejci got some help from Alexander Venes and his 29 assists. Venes was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Plainfield South is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Yorkville, they dropped their record down to 8-21 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Plainfield South will challenge Bolingbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Yorkville, they will host Minooka at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Foxes surely won't give up without a fight.
