Soccer Game Preview: Detroit Country Day vs. Lumen Christi Catholic

The Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets will square off against the Lumen Christi Catholic Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Detroit Country Day headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Garden City let them put that streak behind them. The Yellowjackets blew past the Cougars 4-1 on Friday. With Detroit Country Day ahead 3-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lumen Christi Catholic). They walked away with a 3-1 win over Lenawee Christian on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Lumen Christi Catholic's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Lenawee Christian are ranked 69th).

Detroit Country Day's win bumped their record up to 7-3-2. As for Lumen Christi Catholic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5-2.

Detroit Country Day beat Lumen Christi Catholic by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2018, winning 1-0. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
