Recap: Millington Central Trojans vs. Dyer County Choctaws
After flying high against the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels on Monday, the Millington Central Trojans came back down to earth. Millington Central took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dyer County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Millington Central in their matchups with Dyer County: they've now lost five in a row.
Loss or not, Millington Central got some senior leadership from Bailey Boone who scored 19 points and Alana Whiten who scored 15 points. The matchup was Whiten's third in a row with at least ten points. Arianna Whiten was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Millington Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Dyer County, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Millington Central will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Trinity Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Dyer County, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against McNairy Central at 2:00 p.m. McNairy Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Dyer County is ranked 44th).
