Basketball Recap: Hancock County Comes Up Short

Hancock County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Cumberland Gap Panthers, falling 55-26. The Indians lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-15 score last time.

Hancock County's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Cumberland Gap, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Hancock County has already played their next match (against Cosby), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cumberland Gap is taking a road trip to challenge Washburn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Washburn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
