After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Denbigh Baptist Christian, Gateway Christian was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Portsmouth Christian Patriots 3-0. Gateway Christian not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Gateway Christian never let Portsmouth Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-10, 26-24.

Gateway Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaleigh Nagata, who had five aces and three digs. Another player making a difference was Daniella Obando, who had seven digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Gateway Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They served one more ace than Portsmouth Christian's also-impressive total of 11.

Gateway Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Portsmouth Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Gateway Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against StoneBridge on the 25th. As for Portsmouth Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Broadwater Academy on the 25th.
