Basketball Game Preview: Westside Seminoles vs. Southwest Patriots + Official Tickets

Two dominant guards in Jalen Whitley and Chase Dupree are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Westside Seminoles will take on the Southwest Patriots in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Westside has given up an average of 63.2 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Westside and Northeast faced off in a cross-town battle on Wednesday. The Seminoles received a blow as they fell 61-45 to the Raiders. The Seminoles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Westside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Whitley posted 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Southwest waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took their game with ease, bagging a 100-49 win over the Fighting Irish. That looming 100-49 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.

Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Westside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Westside couldn't quite get it done against Southwest when the teams last played back in January as they fell 69-56. Can the Seminoles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
