Volleyball Recap: Dexter Demons vs. Ruidoso Warriors
Dexter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Ruidoso Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Demons of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.
While Dexter was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-2.
Kaylonie Nevarez paced Dexter's offense, picking up six kills. Nevarez got some help from Emily DeLaRosa and her 18 assists.
Ruidoso found their leader in sophomore Talyn Ramos, who had four digs and two aces. Ramos has been hot recently, having also posted 14 or more assists the last four times she's played.
Dexter's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Ruidoso, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Dexter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Tularosa on the 30th. As for Ruidoso, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against New Mexico Military Institute on the 30th.
