Softball Game Preview: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Rancho Bernardo Broncos

Del Norte and Rancho Bernardo are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Nighthawks will be playing at home against the Broncos at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last five games Del Norte has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Del Norte had taken Mt. Carmel down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Nighthawks fell just short of the Sundevils by a score of 5-3.

Del Norte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Kyles, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Kyles has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Meanwhile, Rancho Bernardo hadn't done well against Poway recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Broncos never let the Titans get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Broncos have posted against the Titans since April 26, 2022.

Zoey Meadows looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Rancho Bernardo's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Del Norte, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
