Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Takes a Loss

Blue Ridge lost against San Jose Prep back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Jose Prep Storm. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Fighting Tigers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 176th in South Carolina, while the Storm are ranked 467th in Florida).

Despite the loss, Blue Ridge still got an impressive performance from Andrew Gray, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Gray a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Bishop, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Blue Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for San Jose Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Blue Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-40 defeat against Laurens on the 28th. As for San Jose Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-49 loss against Westside on the 28th.
