Preview: Alhambra Lions vs. Carl Hayden Community Falcons
Alhambra is 6-1 against Carl Hayden Community since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Alhambra Lions will be playing at home against the Carl Hayden Community Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Alhambra scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Maryvale 47-20 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Alhambra has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Carl Hayden Community beat Maryvale 39-31 on Thursday. The win was just what Carl Hayden Community needed coming off of a 81-25 defeat in their prior matchup.
Carl Hayden Community relied on the efforts of Bria Moultrie, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Bryana Lopez, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Lopez hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games.
Alhambra's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Carl Hayden Community, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.
Alhambra skirted past Carl Hayden Community 26-23 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Alhambra repeat their success, or does Carl Hayden Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
