Volleyball Recap: Lauren Sorgatz Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Kingsland

If Kingsland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Southland, they should've done a better job of containing Ava Payne. The Rebels blew past the Knights 3-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to Payne, who had 23 digs and four aces. Payne is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-12, 25-14.

Southland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Sorgatz, who had 11 assists and four digs.

Southland's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Kingsland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, Southland will head out on the road to face off against Blooming Prairie at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Kingsland, they will head out to square off against Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
