Softball Recap: Cabrini Takes a Loss

Cabrini blew Glen Lake out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Glen Lake got their revenge. The Monarchs fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 9-7. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jodi Browning made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena DelCotto, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cabrini's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Glen Lake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Cabrini will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Foley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glen Lake, they will take on Brethren at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.27 runs per game on average), something the Lakers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
