Softball Recap: Lakeland Christian Wins Going Away Against Canterbury

Lakeland Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Canterbury, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lakeland Christian Vikings were the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over the Canterbury Crusaders on Tuesday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by nine runs or more this season.

Emerson Tyler and Riley Merritt made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Tyler tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Meanwhile, Merritt tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. At the plate, Tyler scored three runs while going 1-for-4, while Merritt scored two runs while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Peyton McNab was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Mikayla Hampton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
