Mt. Eden is a perfect 10-0 against San Lorenzo since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mt. Eden Monarchs will venture away from home to square off against the San Lorenzo Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Mt. Eden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.

Mt. Eden barely beat American the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Mt. Eden's way against American on Tuesday as Mt. Eden made off with a 13-2 win. Considering the Monarchs have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mt. Eden got a massive performance out of Shelby Newcomb, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run marked the first that Newcomb launched this season. Kailyn Trigos was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Mt. Eden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American only posted an OBP of .300.

Meanwhile, San Lorenzo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against St. Joseph Notre Dame, falling 27-1. The game marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

San Lorenzo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Pareja, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mt. Eden now has a winning record of 3-2. As for San Lorenzo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

San Lorenzo's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mt. Eden has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. It's a different story for San Lorenzo, though, as they've been averaging 15.3 hits. Given Mt. Eden's sizable advantage in that area, San Lorenzo will need to find a way to close that gap.

Mt. Eden took their victory against San Lorenzo when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Eden since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
