Basketball Recap: Mooseheart Comes Up Short

Mooseheart lost against South Beloit back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mooseheart Red Ramblers took a blow against the South Beloit Sobos, falling 78-46. While losing is never fun, the Red Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 645th, while the Sobos are ranked 214th).

Several Red Ramblers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylen Hope, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was John McGowin, who put up ten points and three steals.

Mooseheart is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10. As for South Beloit, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Mooseheart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 90-47 defeat against Yorkville Christian on the 14th. South Beloit has also already played their next contest, a 72-51 win against Schaumburg Christian on the 14th.
