Basketball Recap: South Takes a Loss

South lost against Kenston back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Rebels fell 57-44 to the Kenston Bombers.

Braelyn Akins had a dynamite game for Kenston, going 9 for 14 en route to 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Akins a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Burge, who posted nine points.

South dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Kenston, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South will face off against North at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South is facing North at the right time seeing as North is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Kenston, they will challenge Mayfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kenston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.
