Football Preview: Casa Grande Cougars vs. Maricopa Rams
The Casa Grande Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Maricopa Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Maricopa is hoping to do what Paradise Valley couldn't on Friday: put an end to Casa Grande's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Maricopa wouldn't let Sahuarita keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Izaac Lopez, Ruben White, and Clayton Neal picked up one apiece.
Casa Grande's record is now 3-0. As for Maricopa, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Casa Grande against Maricopa in their previous meeting back in September of 2023 as the squad secured a 72-7 win. In that matchup, Casa Grande amassed a halftime lead of 55-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
