Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Acalanes Dons
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Dons on Tuesday as they made off with a 57-31 win. Clayton Valley Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.
Clayton Valley Charter was led to victory by Elijah Perryman and James Moore. Perryman scored 15 points along with four steals, while Moore scored 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Robertson, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Acalanes lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Liam Krackeler, who scored eight points. Maddox Malm was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
The win (which was Clayton Valley Charter's sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Acalanes, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.
Clayton Valley Charter will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Campolindo at 7:00 p.m. Clayton Valley Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Campolindo likes a good challenge. Acalanes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
