Baseball Recap: South Spartans vs. North Stars

While South's win against North wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Stars 6-5 on Thursday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Stars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Josh Encinas was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
