Football Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

Gateway lost against Winter Springs back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aristotle Span Jr threw for 99 yards and one touchdown. Nydrell Thigpen was his top target, picking up 74 receiving yards and one score.

Omar Scott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Winter Springs, rushing for 115 yards and four TDs. Christian Ryan also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Winter Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Gateway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 20-0 victory against Liberty on the 25th. As for Winter Springs, they have also already played their next matchup, a 20-14 win against Horizon on the 26th.
