Basketball Recap: Hammonton Takes a Loss

Hammonton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Egg Harbor Township Eagles 70-36. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Eagles are ranked 150th).

Hammonton's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Egg Harbor Township, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Hammonton has already played their next match (against Cumberland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Egg Harbor Township will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bridgeton at 5:30 p.m. Egg Harbor Township knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Bridgeton likes a good challenge.
