Softball Recap: Ray Texans vs. Alice Coyotes
Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 20-10 to the Alice Coyotes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 back in March.
Alexianna Perez led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jewelia Vasquez, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Ray's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Alice, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-16.
Ray and Alice could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Texans will face off against Gregory-Portland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (722 vs. 234). Meanwhile, Alice (ranked 601st) will meet Flour Bluff (ranked 165th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
