Baseball Game Preview: Everett Seagulls vs. Meadowdale Mavericks

The Everett Seagulls will take on the Meadowdale Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Everett: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Meadowdale has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Everett fell victim to Monroe and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meadowdale). They never let Cascade get on the board and left with a 27-0 victory on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mavericks considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Nash Echelbarger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Meadowdale is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8 otherwise. Echelbarger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Meadowdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Meadowdale, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Everett might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Meadowdale in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Seagulls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
