Basketball Game Preview: Kentwood Conquerors vs. Sumner Spartans

The Kentwood Conquerors will challenge the Sumner Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Kentwood took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Kennedy Catholic 74-53. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Sumner hadn't done well against Union recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sumner managed a 56-52 win over Union.

Kentwood has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points over those games. As for Sumner, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7.
