Softball Recap: Yuba City Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

With a playoff win on the line, Yuba City rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Lathrop Spartans get on the board and left with a 12-0 win.

Chloe Gonzales was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Lopez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Yuba City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Yuba City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lathrop, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

Looking ahead, Yuba City will square off against East Union at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Lathrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
