After flying high against Goldsboro two weeks ago, Nash Central came back down to earth. The Nash Central Bulldogs fell just short of the Southern Nash Firebirds by a score of 28-25 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 22-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Although Nash Central took the loss, they still got scores from Kevin Williams, Kameron Tucker, James "Rocket" Rodgers, and "Rocket" Rodgers.

Nash Central wouldn't let Southern Nash keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Nash Central can thank Jayden Whitaker and Jaquan Morris for forcing both of them.

Nash Central will challenge Franklinton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklinton's defense has only allowed 16 points per game this season, so Nash Central's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Southern Nash, they will square off against Roanoke Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Roanoke Rapids has won four straight at home, while Southern Nash won seven straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
