Mechanicsburg has gone 8-1-1 against Catholic Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Indians will host the Irish at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Mechanicsburg has four wins , while Catholic Central has three).
Last Wednesday, Mechanicsburg got the win against Fairbanks by a conclusive 14-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won three matchups by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Crew Lafary was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Lafary was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.
In other batting news, Conner Eyink was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Colton Walborn was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
Mechanicsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairbanks only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Catholic Central hadn't done well against Greenon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Irish were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Knights.
Like Mechanicsburg, Catholic Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Brody Adams. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Adams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Catholic Central got a massive performance out of Berkeley Little, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-6. Little is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Aleec Tackett, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Mechanicsburg's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10 runs thus far. As for Catholic Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Catholic Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mechanicsburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .410. It's a different story for Catholic Central, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Mechanicsburg's hitters?
Everything went Mechanicsburg's way against Catholic Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Mechanicsburg made off with a 9-2 win. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Irish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
