Volleyball Recap: Olathe West Takes a Loss

Olathe West suffered their biggest defeat since September 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Blue Valley West Jaguars, falling 3-0. If the Owls were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Olathe West took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 27-25.

Their offense was headlined by Cami Sher and Kylee Webb, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Neely Leathers and her 25 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Blue Valley West can attribute much of their success to ALYSSA YOUNG, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most digs YOUNG has posted since back in November of 2024.

Olathe West's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Blue Valley West, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Olathe West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Washburn Rural on the 4th. As for Blue Valley West, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Olathe North on the 4th.
