Softball Recap: Riverton Parke Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

After only one run in their last match, Riverton Parke made sure to put some runs up on the board against Attica on Saturday. The Panthers blew past the Red Ramblers 17-0. Considering the Panthers have won 16 contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Coonce made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Riverton Parke let Haylee Mathas and Lizzy Leitgabel run wild. Mathas went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Leitgabel got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Mathas has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Lumaye, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Riverton Parke always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Riverton Parke's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Attica, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Riverton Parke beat Attica by a score of 15-1 later that day.
