Basketball Recap: Germantown Christian Comes Up Short

Germantown Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Christian Academy Eagles, falling 54-15. The Conquerors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-4.

Despite the loss, Germantown Christian still got an impressive performance from Grace Smith, who posted nine points and five rebounds. That was a full 60% of Germantown Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Germantown Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Germantown Christian will venture away from home to take on Dominion Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Germantown Christian at 12:15 p.m. on January 18, 2025.
