Volleyball Recap: Wendover Comes Up Short

Wendover extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They fell 2-0 to the Battle Mountain Longhorns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

As for Battle Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading Battle Mountain to victory were Eimilie Johnson and Andrea Alcaraz-Lopez. Johnson had seven assists and six aces, while Alcaraz-Lopez had 17 digs.

Wendover has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Spring Creek on the 23rd. As for Battle Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Owyhee on the 22nd.
