Basketball Recap: Bishop Dunne Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Bishop Dunne had won two straight games and Johnny Green did his part to make it three on Friday. The Bishop Dunne Falcons walked away with a 64-54 victory over the Hyde Park Panthers thanks in part to Green, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 12 boards. He is becoming a predictor of Bishop Dunne's success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 4-14 when he doesn't).

Another player making a difference was Jordan Henson, who posted three points along with seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Bishop Dunne's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-15. As for Hyde Park, they now have a losing record at 13-14.

Bishop Dunne will venture away from home to face off against Regents at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Dunne knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Regents likes a good challenge. Hyde Park has already played their next matchup (against Brighter Horizons Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
