Baseball Game Preview: Merced Bears vs. Gridley Bulldogs

The Merced Bears will square off against the Gridley Bulldogs at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Friday just wasn't the day for Merced's offense. They lost 10-0 to Turlock on Friday.

Merced saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Speidel, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Gridley came up short against San Luis Obispo on Friday, falling 20-1.

Merced's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Gridley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Merced has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gridley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
