The Connellsville Falcons made easy work of the Peters Township Indians on Monday and carried off a 15-5 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by nine runs or more this season.
Mackenzie Victor tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Connellsville got a massive performance out of Cali Leichliter, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kalyn Cole, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Connellsville's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Peters Township, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Looking ahead, Connellsville will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Baldwin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Highlanders will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Peters Township, they will venture away from home to face off against Bethel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
