Baseball Recap: Conneaut Area Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Conneaut Area's offense. They came up short against the Fairview Tigers on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Conneaut Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Wilpula, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Conneaut Area and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Fairview, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Conneaut Area is set to square off against their familiar foe North East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Fairview will challenge rival Girard at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 2.9, the Yellowjackets 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
