Wilmington falls to Shenango in first game of season

Wilmington had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Shenango Wildcats by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday.

Brodie Dewberry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Mitcheltree, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Shenango back to even at 1-1.

Wilmington will head out on the road to challenge Jamestown at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Shenango, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on April 8th.
