Basketball Recap: First Assembly Christian Starts Season with Victory on the Road

First Assembly Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Chilton Christian Academy Patriots to the tune of 73-40 on Monday.

Leading First Assembly Christian to victory were Addalay Simmons and Mandi Hill. Simmons dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten steals, while Hill dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Hope Hill was another key player, putting up six points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian will welcome Glen Iris Baptist at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Chilton Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Evangel Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
