Football Recap: Maclay Skates Past Brookwood with Ease

Maclay won the last time they faced Brookwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Marauders blew past the Warriors 45-14. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-7.

Maclay found their leader in freshman Anthony White, who rushed for 124 yards and one score on only six carries. Beau Beshears was another key player, rushing for 11 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Maclay was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Maclay's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Abram Wildrick, Hunter Sheheane, and Will Thompson, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Although Brookwood took the loss, they still got scores from Pearce Hightower and Graham Jackson.

Maclay has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points this season. As for Brookwood, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maclay will host Marianna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookwood, they will welcome Scintilla Charter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
