Basketball Recap: Thrive Charter's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Thrive Charter came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Northern Burlington Greyhounds with a sharp 74-48 win. Thrive Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Thrive Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Oui-Mia Wilkins led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Wilkins' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Moore, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists.

Thrive Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Northern Burlington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maleeya Brammer, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Brammer has become a key player for Northern Burlington: the team is 5-1 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Watson, who posted 15 points and five assists.

Thrive Charter is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Northern Burlington, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.
