Richland Center is 2-8 against Prairie du Chien since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hornets will host the Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. Richland Center's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Prairie du Chien's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Richland Center will bounce into Thursday's game after beating River Valley, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hornets never let the Blackhawks get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Tuesday.

Kyree Fischer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That run marked the first that she scored this season.
Fischer wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddie McGlynn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. McGlynn also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Jaycee Gander was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Prairie du Chien suffered their closest loss since April 30, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lancaster by a score of 6-4. The contest marked the Blackhawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Like Richland Center, Prairie du Chien also got a great game from a two-way player: Claire Kennedy. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Kennedy was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Camryn Knapp was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Irelynd Cejka, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Richland Center's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Prairie du Chien, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
