Volleyball Game Preview: Raton Tigers vs. Tucumcari Rattlers + How To Watch

Raton is 2-8 against Tucumcari since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will face off against the Rattlers at 6:30 p.m. Raton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Raton got the win against Estancia by a conclusive 3-0.

Raton never let Estancia on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 25-14.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tucumcari, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Pecos 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Tucumcari who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-27, 25-21, 19-25, 15-9.

Raton's record is now 12-3. As for Tucumcari, their record now sits at 7-8.

Raton might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Tucumcari in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
