Volleyball Recap: Reedley Takes a Loss

Reedley and Atascadero squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Reedley had to settle for second. They came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 3-0. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Greyhounds from their previous meeting back in September of 2021.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18, 25-15.

Jamilah Taylor paced Reedley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Taylor got some help from Kaylie Thiesen and her 20 assists. Giuliana Jurado controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Atascadero to victory were Cara Howes and Sequoia Trejo. Howes had eight digs and two aces, while Trejo had nine digs and six assists. That's the most assists Trejo has posted since back in September.

Reedley's defeat dropped their record down to 24-13-1. As for Atascadero, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 26-10.

Reedley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atascadero, they will take on Bullard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
