Softball Recap: Waller Bulldogs vs. Cypress Ranch Mustangs
If Waller was riding high fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Cypress Lakes last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Cypress Ranch Mustangs by a score of 10-9 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in March.

Delyla Valdez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Taylor McCurdy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Olivia Stephens also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Waller's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-15. As for Cypress Ranch, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
