Recap: Waldron Mohawks vs. Milan Indians
A well-balanced attack led the Waldron Mohawks over the Milan Indians in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Waldron took down Milan 62-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for Waldron.
Waldron found their leader in underclassman Grace Fischer, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Fischer has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Audrey Hogg, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Milan's loss came despite strong showings from Kaiya Rinear and Emma Voss. Rinear scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, while Voss scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Rinear has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played.
Waldron's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Milan, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.
Waldron will face off against Morristown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Morristown is ranked 292nd, while Waldron is ranked 278th). As for Milan, they will square off against North Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Decatur will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
