Softball Recap: Bridgeland Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Bridgeland dropped their record down to 15-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Cypress Ranch Mustangs by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Lucy Sharon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bridgeland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Gray, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for Cypress Ranch, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

On Cypress Ranch's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Layla Gallardo gave up a run (which was unearned) on two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Darian Bridges, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Bridgeland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-0 win against Cypress Woods on the 17th. As for Cypress Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-7 defeat against Langham Creek on the 17th.
