Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Bishop Hendricken Hawks

Mt. Hope hasn't had much luck against Bishop Hendricken recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Huskies will challenge the Hawks at 4:00 p.m.

Mt. Hope is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Raphael Academy.

Trace Dubois made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Logan Dubois, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bishop Hendricken strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cumberland, sneaking past 6-4.

Bishop Hendricken pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Mt. Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Mt. Hope couldn't quite get it done against Bishop Hendricken in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
