Basketball Recap: Hampton Roads Academy Navigators vs. The Covenant Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norfolk Christian, Hampton Roads Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-46 victory over The Covenant Eagles. This was payback for the Navigators, who suffered a 70-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Hampton Roads Academy found their leader in freshman Kenzie Cooper, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 18 rebounds. Zuriel Pendleton-Morant was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight boards and six assists.
The Covenant lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Makayla Hargrove, who posted 12 points along with five assists and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played.
