Basketball Recap: Islesboro Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Vinalhaven last Saturday, Islesboro Central came back down to earth. The Islesboro Central Eagles took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Tree Academy Breakers. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Breakers earlier this season, when they won 40-27.

Islesboro Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Pine Tree Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Islesboro Central will take on Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pine Tree Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wiscasset at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pine Tree Academy is facing Wiscasset at the right time seeing as Wiscasset is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
